Proud to Support the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower

Worldwide Breaks is proud to be a member of Hidden Disabilities Sunflower.
Not every disability is visible. Sometimes, a little more time, patience and understanding can make all the difference.
I start with the person, not the label. Tell me what helps you or your family feel comfortable, and we’ll plan your holiday one step at a time.
What is the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower?
The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is a voluntary way to show that someone has a non-visible disability and may need extra help, understanding or a little more time.
A Sunflower lanyard, badge or other official item can help communicate this without having to explain a personal condition straight away.
It is your choice whether to wear it, when to wear it and what you feel comfortable sharing. The scheme supports people with many different non-visible disabilities and conditions, not only autism.
I started Worldwide Breaks because I know how much the little details of a holiday can matter.
As a grandfather to two neurodivergent grandchildren, I have seen how unfamiliar surroundings, noise and changes in routine can become overwhelming. I have also seen the difference that patience, preparation and feeling understood can make.
My background includes qualifications in SEN, autistic behaviours and children’s mental health, alongside my role as a SEN school governor.
Joining the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower scheme reflects the way I want people to feel when they come to me: listened to, respected and comfortable being themselves.
You do not need to have all the answers before getting in touch. Tell me what matters to you. We will start there.

Why This Matters to Me
Holiday Planning That Starts With You
Time to Talk
Tell me what makes travel easier or more difficult for you. We can take things at your pace, and you only need to share what you feel comfortable sharing.
Questions Before
You Book
I can help you ask suppliers about the things that matter to you. If something still needs confirmation, I will make that clear.
Honest Advice
If I believe a hotel, cruise or destination may be unsuitable for your needs, I will tell you and explain why. My aim is to help you make a choice that feels right for you.
The Details That Matter
We can talk about noise, crowds, familiar food, routines, room location and transfers—whatever needs a little extra thought for your holiday.
Travelling With the Sunflower
The Sunflower can help signal that you may need extra time, understanding or support during your journey. Recognition and available support vary between airports, airlines and other travel providers.
Before you travel, check whether the organisations involved in your journey recognise the Sunflower and ask what help they can offer.
If you need special assistance, arrange it separately with your airline or travel provider as early as possible.
Wearing the Sunflower does not automatically provide fast-track security, priority boarding or guaranteed assistance. It is a helpful way to communicate your needs, alongside any support you have arranged.
Frequently Asked Questions
